Indubitatio Nonmalefica encapsulates a moment of introspection through the gaze of a young man lost in thought. Originally envisioned as a reductive linocut piece, its essence remains intact despite its current manifestation as a Giclee on a 17x22" canvas. This rendition, limited to a series of ten, captures the essence of the initial concept, promising a depth of contemplation and artistic expression.
This work is printed on Legacy Etching fine art paper in an edition of 10 pieces. I will be available rolled, matted or matted and framed.
A second edition is planned using reductive linocut on a deckled heavy paper in an edition of 25. the linocut will be a bit more expensive and it will be made available rolled, mounted, or mounted and framed.
Custom mounting on cradled birch is available as well.

This piece stands as a testament to nature's influential force, evoking inspiration and captivating minds in contemplation.
View PostThis isn’t the first time I’ve tried to draw this young model. I don’t recall her name or I’d offer it. This time I think I rendered a pretty good resemblance of the reference...

I will likely work up this digital versions into a pastel on board in the coming weeks. I created this in Procreate using my familiar charcoals and 3rd party paper textures...
View PostThis is an example of where my head goes when I’m not doing a study. I like drawing these kind of things but I’m afraid that I the work would be categorized as a cartoon, so I work with a lot of studies to try to bring it back into a more serious realm, whatever that is, and for whatever it’s worth...
View PostThis is a study I drew from NMA (New Masters Academy) reference image. I used Procreate with the 3rd party charcoal brushes I love so much. I wanted to work on the fabric a bit. I had sketched out this nude in gesture some time ago and came back to it, probably months after my initial sketches...
View PostI started out this portrait using a vellum textured digital substrate and an assortment of digital graphite brushes in Procreate. I then ported the drawing over to a different background, one that I have gotten accustom to using with 3rd party charcoal brushes. This allowed me to emphasize the highlights a bit more even though the reference was on a blown out white background...
