Using Procreate and the charcoal brushes I worked on a couple of studies in my slack time. Both are from photo references. I tend to do studies when I don't have a composition in mind. It keeps my hands busy and help me to work on some deficiencies.
View PostSelf-portrait originally done on an older iPad 3 with a Wacom stylus. I revisited this work on my iPad Pro with Apple Pencil using an assortment of 3rd party Charcoal brushes. I particularly like the "paper" textures that came with it.
View PostMorning Espresso - Created in Procreate using Charcoal brushes. This painting was done on an iPad Pro using Apple Pencil 2. It was one of the first that I created in this style. The painting was created from a photo reference of the model, foreground and background created out of my imagination. It was one of my first from a new set of charcoal brushes built for the Procreate app.
View PostThis is another study done on digital format. My aim is to create underpainting in digital then print them out on paper and stretch them on board. Then coat them with pastel ground and glazing the work with pastels. So far in my first test Rembrandts are a bit opaque and I will try again. I also have PanPastel which might Be a bit more translucent.
